Integration is an important part of the healing journey and is often overlooked. It's the period of time when your system is reorganizing after internal shifts have taken place and a time when your system is more open and sensitive.

I've put together my recommendations for you to easily refer to after sessions with me, or after deep work of any kind. Hope it helps.

POSt-SESSION CARE

I tell my clients that while breakthroughs, releases and insights can occur during sessions, the real effects unfold once integration takes place.

The conscious mind might believe the session is over once you walk out the door, but that's not the case. Whether your session was gentle or intense, your system is still busy in the background for around 3-7 days, reorganizing, rearranging and realigning.

This means it's common for sensations, emotions, tensions and patterns to surface in the days that follow. You might feel vulnerable, irritable, or raw, which can create conflict with others and conflict within yourself. It can be easy to forget that you’re in integration mode, so you might get a little lost in it and fear things are getting worse. However, remember be gentle with yourself. These are opportunities for healing, not problems to fix.

Rather than trying to get "rid" of what comes up, focus on supporting yourself with compassion and curiosity. This approach allows for deeper release and integration, creating space for transformation and alignment with your authentic self. The more grace you give yourself during this time, the more your nervous system will thank you in the long run.

At the end of the day, the sessions I offer - from Neo Emotional Release, to Somatic Alignment, to breathwork, to subconscious mind reprogramming and beyond - aren't just about getting "rid" of all the internal baggage overnight. The sessions are really about opening the door to your subconscious, then allowing your system to move through things in its own perfect way. Your role is to just be a witness and allow your body's innate intelligence to do it's thing, trusting that everything is unfolding as it should.

On the other hand, you could also find that during this period you simply experience euphoria, increased clarity, perception shifts, greater awareness, synchronicities, and attract new opportunities in your life. Your body will lead the way.

Now, without further ado, here are some effective practices that you can do to support your integration.

Take it easy for a day or two after doing deep work. You can still do normal activities, just go a bit slower, rest, and do less if you can. Instead of rushing to immerse yourself into more deep work, integration asks you to pause, so you can fully absorb the ripples of the process.

1. Slowing down

 - Robert Frost

2. Grounding

Bring in more grounding practices for yourself during this time, particularly within 72 hours of the session. Spending time barefoot on the earth, connecting with your body and it's sensations, connecting with your five senses, and grounding visualizations can help you stay present.

3. Journalling or free writing

Journalling on what arose in your session, and any sensations, emotions, thoughts, or insights you experience afterwards, can be a great way to digest the process. Free writing can also be an interesting way for your subconscious mind to continue express itself and process.

4. Gentle breathwork

If your system feels more sensitive after a deep session, you can always return to a mindful, soft breath. Slow, deep, but gentle inhales and exhales through the nose can help regulate your nervous system and tells your body it is safe to relax.

5. Movement

Allow your body to integrate by moving intuitively - stretch, sway, shake, or take a calming walk. This helps energy flow and prevents stagnation, supporting your system to move through the shifts.

6. Awareness

Notice what arises in the hours and days after the session, without judgment. `Pay attention to your emotions, thoughts, dreams, body sensations. It can be easy to fall into overanalyzing, but by just maintaining some awareness and creating a welcoming space within for everything to reorganize itself, you remove unconscious resistance.

7. Hydration and nourishment

Deep sessions stir deep energy - there's a lot moving around in your system and so your body needs replenishment. Drink plenty of water and nourish yourself with clean, grounding foods to support your detoxification and cellular renewal.

8. Trusting the process

9. Reaching out for support

Integration unfolds differently for everyone. Some feel it intensely and others, may not. Some shifts are immediate, while others take time to reveal their impact. Trust that your body and subconscious are working in harmony, even if the insights come in waves.

Reach out for support from your facilitator during integration, or loved ones who can be a grounding presence for you. Remember you have so many resources at your fingertips and you are not alone on your journey. Be gentle with yourself and know the benefits of the practice will continue to reveal themselves in big or small ways - whether that's in new insights that pop up, how much more grounded are when conflict arises, or how much more you begin to trust yourself, or love yourself.
